Serena, As you know boats are my thing and I love the canal and canoes. So peaceful and gentle. The Whitehill picture I like too. You will be able to have a grand local pictures exhibition soon! love Mems and Peps

Dear Mems and Peps,
Thought you might like the river scene! We are all for peace and gentleness... it goes a long way.
Mike thinks if I don't crack on, the only local thing to be exhibited will be me! (He may have a point! Right, back to it... Whitehill part 2 coming up. )Luv S xx

I love this kind of composition: buildings tumbling down a hill, little or no horizon. It makes for a good arrangement on the picture plane, I find.

Glad you like the composition, Harry. If you come back tomorrow afternoon the second piece of the diptych will be finished, and it will be interesting to hear your comments when viewed as a whole.
And if that's not shameless self promotion, I don't know what is! :o)

I adore "Whitehill" !
I once tried cottages sprawled all up a hill. (It wasn't so hot)
I do love this long thinner format,,,,can't wait to see #2,,,,I shall return!

I'll get the kettle on Babs and break open the Crunch Creams!
(Promising to finish something has actually galvanized me- I sometimes stall when the end is nigh and get complacent, wanting to get on with the next one.) :o)
