Ta dah! As promised earlier here is the painting of Bradford's main town bridge, after an 8 hour shift. I have quite a bit left to do, but have made great inroads. There will lots of foliage to paint at the bottom and of course I have to put the top on the Old Lock Up (main part of the picture.) This prison cell can fit one (unlucky) person in, and hangs over the river- quite a deterrent from crime in the good old days I'll wager. This is quite a tourist attraction, and once a year it is opened to the public to cast an eye inside. I haven't done the tour yet but can't imagine it will take long! I think it's home to spiders so I may have to give it a miss...

I thought this one might be coming. I love it and it is sooo Bradford-on-Avon. Look forward to seeing the finished painting. Keep going - you wonderful artist! Love Mems and Peps
Dear Mems and Peps,
I know! I caved and 'did the bridge'- but not the normal view of it in it's entirety! This one has split the household- I say this IS Boa, Miguel says not! He would like some nice honey coloured stone instead of the greys it actually is (I would like to be a naturally blond size 10, but we can't have everything we want!!!!) Ha! :o) xxxxxxx
I have it on high authority that ALL blondes are natural,,,but that's another story.
I am in awe of this kind of work. I SO shy away from realism,,,and lord you do it so well! I love architectural paintings,,and CANNOT do a rock or stone successfully, wouldn't you know!
(loved learning what the building is, also)
I scrolled down to the previous post,,,,this thing looks huge,,,is it?
Lol Babs- blonds! I like your way of thinking- and it sounds like a goodly story!
It is quite a big painting, especially when you're in a hurry! ( 20" x 27") but it allows me to throw a brush around at arms length. I have always been a bit of a 'it-does-exactly-what-it-says-on-the-tin' type of girl! There is not much imagination or intrigue to it as in your lovely works- realism can be so matter of fact! But I do enjoy the process of recording detail for posterity. If that make any sense?! :o)
